Erin received a BM in Music Education and Clarinet Performance from Ithaca College and an MM in Clarinet Performance from The Ohio State University. She is expected to complete her DMA in Clarinet Performance from Michigan State University in Spring 2024. Primary teachers include Guy Yehuda, Caroline Hartig, Richard Faria, and Gerry Zampino.

Erin Dowler is a clarinetist, educator, and arts administrator based in Michigan. She currently serves as Second Clarinet in the Lansing Symphony Orchestra and subs with other orchestras throughout Michigan, including those in Jackson and Marquette. A strong advocate for diversifying classical repertoire, Erin’s current projects include creating reference recordings for clarinet quartets written by women with the Bella Clarinet Quartet, as well as researching more diverse and contemporary clarinet works to introduce to middle school and high school clarinet students.
Erin is actively involved in two music education non-profits in the city of Detroit. She serves as the Operations Assistant for Detroit Harmony, a city-wide effort in collaboration with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as well as other arts non-profits, schools, and community resources, meant to strengthen music education opportunities for the students of Detroit. Erin also teaches lessons and works in administrative roles at the MSU Community Music School – Detroit. She has maintained a successful private studio and has provided clinics for high school clarinet students throughout Michigan and New York.
